Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Can you smell the cinnamon in the air?

My favorite time of the year is fall. As soon as the air gets cooler, my oven goes on bake.

Sometimes I make pretty decorated cookies and other times I make the old tried and true ones.

One thing in common....they are delicious!

Rome Italy!

Day One

As we sat in the airport the anticipation grew! I was really going to Italy! My dream since I was a little girl.

The place where my ancestors came from.

We flew to JFK and waited for our one way flight to Rome. I was ready...

I have never flown overseas before. I was excited!

Then they announced there was mechanical difficulties with the plane and we were detained.

3 hours went by before we could board our new plane but that was ok. I knew where I was going!

I flew American...

We boarded the plane, it was bigger than the usual ones I have been in.
There were movies, music and food to be had.

My thought was that I hope my legs and back don't cramp up sitting here so long....
I watched out the window as the plane went up the coast till the lights were few.
Then no more....

just water...

So sit back with me as I take you on my transatlantic flight to Italy!

Italy! ....Back to Reality

Just wanted to let you all know that I am back from the best vacation of my life, Italy!

The flight was long and I am still trying to get adjusted to the new time zone.

I took over 1700 pictures and love most of them, It will take some time to edit them all. So please be patient with me. I traveled to so many wonderful places and I can;t wait to share it all with you.

I will be setting it up in separate parts so you won't be bored! lol

I hope you enjoyed my guests and my scheduled posts while I was gone. Thanks to all that stopped by and left comments, I should have responded back to all of you. If not let me know.

The Colosseum Rome, Itlay
I left in the summer and came back in the fall! Go lots to catch up on!

Wine Corkscrew Wall Art

I am so happy that Danni from Silo Hill Farm, has agreed to help me while I am away! I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have! She is such a sweetheart!

Please Welcome Danni!

If you ask me to do a guest post for you, I'm most likely going to say "yes", depending on your time frame.  I'm also going to browse your blog, learn as much about you as I can and then do a project that I think somehow relates to you.  I might also talk about alcohol (unless you specifically tell me not to).
When Deneen asked me to do a guest post, it was pretty easy because I was lucky enough to meet her last July when I was in Tennessee.  She was delightful and we had a marvelous time.  I knew that she was a fabulous furniture painter.  I knew that she loved all things Italian.  I knew that she was going to Italy soon.
I decided to make a piece of wall art for this guest post that incorporated those facts.  I chose a wine corkscrew silhouette project.

Monster Mason Jars

We get tons of kids ringing our door at Halloween.

The most fun I have is seeing how creative people can get with the costumes.

I do get some special trick or treaters that stop by

so I made these Monster Mason Jars for them.

When I see this one I think of Family Guy. Not that I ever watch it but that annoying commercial sticks in my head.

Mum, Mah, Mum, Mummy, Mummy, Mah

ahahahhhhhhhhhhhh

Do you know what I am taking about?

Beautiful Dresser

I was thinking the other day about my childhood.

I shared my bedroom with my sister growing up.

That led to homemade forts, pillow fights and sometimes fist fights!

For the most part, we always had fun because "in those days" we had to come up with ways to entertain each other.

Celebrating in Another Country

I wrote a love story.

About a boy......

Did you read it?

Well you still can....here

Tomorrow is my 28th year anniversary.

Such a long time.....

Through the years it has been hard. We have been through a lot. My husband has health issues. It really took a toll on our family. He works so hard and always wants the best for us.
I just wanted to say thanks to him!

Thanks for making my dreams come true!

Today we are celebrating here!

The Amalfi Coast!

What a great place to celebrate our anniversary!

Love you honey!

Italy! It's Here!

Today is the day a dream of mine is coming true!

As you read this I am probably landing in Rome, Italy!! I will be on tour in this beautiful country! While family stay at my house and take care of my puppy (who I already miss) I will be crossing off one of the things on my Bucket List! The first of this year a wrote about a "word" that I used to inspire me. I set a goal.  It helps that husband gave me this as a gift! But it takes two to get there. If you know me, you know we have come a long way and been through a whole lot. This is so exciting for us!  I cannot wait to share it all with you!

I will continue with posts and I have some surprises for you! Please come back and read along and follow my journey! Just please understand it will take longer than usual to get back to your comments. But I promise I will!

Ciao!

How to Cut Pallets

If you follow me on social media you will know I have been gleaming about my recent Ryobi goodies.

It all started last year at Haven. I came home with a lot of fun things especially my Ryobi Compound miter saw. I set it up in my living room the other day. It will be in the way for awhile. When I get back from Italy I will have a big project planned.

When people hear the name Ryobi, they think of Power Tools or Home Depot.
When I hear that name.......... I think of Ryobi Green and the song  "Its raining men!"

oh and tools to create with......

Blessings of Blogging

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I have been busy getting ready for my trip to Italy! It is fast approaching and I am soo excited!!

Before I leave I have some people to talk about and thank!

A few months ago a blogger friend came down to Tennessee for a family reunion, Danni from Silo Hill Farm. It was the first time I got to meet her in person. We met in Franklin at the Carnton House.
