Taking a Trip!

SNAP was such a fun conference this year in Utah! I had found out about it last year when I attended Haven. Everyone recommended it but I wasn't sure I could go to both .

After working really hard I decided why not?

Last year was so much fun I really wanted to do it again.

There was so much swag, prizes and classes to attend. I met some great bloggers and vendors. I even put in a little time shopping in Atlanta!

This year will be a little different. The hotel is in Buckhead ( one of my favorite places) close to Lenox Mall and great restaurants.

Haven Alum

There will be cocktail parties and even a dance and I was invited to attend a special sponsor catered dinner.

I will be tweeting about it @dreamingncolor and instagraming @dreamingincolorblog!!

So follow along for the latest and greatest fun and ideas!

Of course I will share it ALL with you when I get back!

Child's Painted Adirondack Chair

When my children were little, I loved creating one of a kind things for them. I painted murals on their walls, made cute little projects and painted furniture.......(yes, even back then! remember the redo here?)

Those days are gone....

They are grown so I don't get to do too many "kid" things.

unless they are gifts or orders......like painting names of newborn babies

or client designs

That is when it all comes back to me. This one really hit home. A pink hand painted Adirondack chair! It is based on the Golden Book "Pokey Little Puppy"

Succulent Purse Centerpiece

Finally a plant that survives my lack of watering skills.

I love fresh flowers and plants but sometimes I forget to water them.

I know.....don't judge!

These beautiful succulents store water so they don't need to be watered so often. This works great for me!
I love moss projects and I have done a few like my moss cover letters and birds, but this one is my favorite! A beautiful Succulent Purse Centerpiece!

Milk Paint Coffee Table

My second attempt painting with Milk Paint was so much better. Although my stool came out bright and pretty, I didn't get the chippiness I desired. This attempt filled that need. It was chippy all over!

You already saw my sofa I just bought for my living room redesign. It is traditional. I wanted to use a chippy table in front of it with a bright color. I chose salmon.

Traveling Jewelry Box

This has been a busy summer and I am loving every minute! I cannot believe that very soon I will be traveling to Italy!!! I guess that is what was going through my mind when I created this project.

Refurbishing jewelry boxes is not a new thing to me. I just made and sold this small one that was a pretty pink!

After seeing my painted patina french nightstands featured on the ASUnfolded page, I was asked to teach a class for a store in Brentwood, Tennessee for 9-14 year olds using Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan.  I will tell you more about that in a few weeks.

Jewelry boxes came to mind when thinking of a different piece to paint. But I added Cool and Funky to it!

New Pinterest Board and Some Awesome Furniture

I finally got on the Pinterest bandwagon! At first, I just did it for myself.

......occasionally

Now I have boards set up and keep creating more.....it is a sickness....lol

My new board is Awesome Painted Furniture and it is a group board. A board where I invite people to participate in pinning their furniture projects

Sandy Toes and Salty Memories

The ocean calls me many times throughout the year. It is like it knows me and there is a pull I can't deny.

It feeds my soul. Renews my spirit.

A few weeks ago, I took my mom to Florida along with my sister. It was her 70th birthday present from us. The first time we have been away together just the three of us.

Lace, Trim, Pearls and Fabric Flag

Three cheers for the red, white and blue! July 4th, Independence Day!

It is right around the corner!

Lots of Booms and Sparkles!

The day we celebrate freedom!

Freedom isn't free ..... as they say.

A lot have sacrificed for us and I hope people remember that.

That is why I always hang a flag somewhere to remind me how important that word is and how blessed I am living in the USA.

I love all the beautiful countries out there and I love some of their flags too. But I am an American, and I celebrate that fact.

So today as I was stumbling in my craft room picking up scraps of things. I decided to create this Lace, Trim, Pearls and Fabric Flag.

The last time I made a flag was my when I made my paint stick flag. I wanted to do something different. So I started with all my trim scraps!
